Footvolley is capturing the attention of soccer and volleyball fans from around the world. Originating in Brazil in the 1960's, it has grown to be an international sport. A soccer-volleyball hybrid, it is simply beach volleyball where the players can only use their head, feet, and chest. (no hands!). "The rallies are alot longer, and more skill is required", says Sergio Menezes, President of US Footvolley in Miami Beach. "It's a sport that's almost a lifestyle," he says. "It's the beach. In 2006, an opportunity arose to move the former Control Skate Park to a new location in Doral. The M.I.A. team agreed it was a great moment to combine the talent of both companies into one great business endeavor. With the help and support of Planet Earth Clothing, Adio Shoes, as well as family and friends, Miami's skateboarding community now has an amazing skateboarding facility called called M.I.A. Skate Park. The new skate park offers a setting for young people to have fun, and give them what is now a very big family of friends - all working together for the growth of the skateboarding community in South Florida. M.I.A. is located in Doral at 1850 NW 84th avenue.

“Wheelchair tennis is an excellent training activity for building endurance and upper body strength”, says Ruben Lamothe, Tennis Professional and Volunteer. It doesn’t look easy, but with practice anyone can improve their skills. The Department of Leisure Access also has a program for beginners, where players learn the basic strokes and mechanics of wheelchair tennis, with a goal of moving into the more advanced group in the future.
